Currumbin Valley Rock Pools 
If you tire of the beach during a Gold Coast holiday then its worth taking a drive through the Currumbin Valley for a change of scene and pace.
About 15 kilometres up the delightful Currumbin Creek Road is a favourite swimming hole of locals called the Currumbin Rock Pools.
Here the fresh mountain stream is lined with turf and there are barbecue and toilet facilities.
Another 5 kilometres up the road, the Mount Cougal section of Springbrook National Park attracts plenty of visitors because of its easy walking paths that take you to a series of breathtakingly beautiful cascades.
